Focus and Scope

This journal is an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed, international, multidisciplinary journal.  It publishes original research articles, case studies, book and art reviews, reports, and essays on cultural studies.  The journal covers various interrelated fields such as philosophy, area studies, humanities, sociology, law, history, linguistics, psychology, economics, tourism, education, politics, governance, and other social science discipline.

Peer Review Process

The journal implements two levels of review.  The first level is led by editorial team. The second level of review is performed by the Board of reviewers. Each manuscript shall be forwarded to reviewers who are known to be experts in the subject or theme of the submitted manuscript. Reviewers are chosen for their expertise, interest, or practice related to the fields within the scope of the journal. Only manuscripts that are recommended for approval by both the Editorial Team and the Board of Reviewers may be recommended for publication in the journal.  Final funding decisions are made by either the Editor-in-Chief or the Managing Editor. 

Open Access Policy

Lakandayang believes in the democratization of knowledge. This journal provides access to the public without any charges.

Archiving and Indexing

This journal is distributed to various archiving systems in online libraries and resource centers around the world for purposes of preservation and restoration. 

Publication Ethics

The author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer and the publisher are expected to abide by the standards of publication ethics. 

Publication decisions
The editor of the Lakandayang Journal of Cultural Studies will be responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal will be published. The editor may be guided by the policies of the journal’s editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editor may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.

Fair play
Editor will evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

The editor and editorial staff of Lakandayang Journal of Cultural Studies will not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript will not be used in an editorial board or editor’s own research without the written consent of the author.

Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also call to the editor’s attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

Corresponding Author’s Responsibilities

The corresponding (submitting) author is solely responsible for communicating with the Lakandayang Journal of Cultural Studies and for managing communication between co-authors. Before submission, the corresponding author ensures that all authors are included in the author list, its order has been agreed by all authors, and that all authors are aware that the paper was submitted.
After acceptance, the proof is sent to the corresponding author, who deals with Lakandayang Journal of Cultural Studies on the behalf of all co-authors; Lakandayang Journal of Cultural Studies will not necessarily correct errors after publication if they result from errors that were present on a proof that was not shown to co-authors before publication. The corresponding author is responsible for the accuracy of all content in the proof, in particular, that names of co-authors are present and correctly spelled, and that addresses and affiliations are current.

Originality and Plagiarism
The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.

Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgement of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
